Finally....

Well, since school started back about 2 weeks ago I have been overwhelmed and incredibly busy. I think this will probably be my busiest semester since I have been in Athens, I have barely found time to do my homework, let alone blog. I won't be getting much homework done this weekend because the DAWGS will be between the hedges ...and so will I! I am interning with the Athletic Association's Sports Communication Office for the semester taking pictures of all of the fall sports and could not be MORE THRILLED!!! It is absolutely the most amazing opportunity and the best way I can think of to spend my last semester as a student at UGA. I will be on the field shooting our Dawgs during every home game and am scared and excited all at the same time.

These pictures don't have anything to do with anything really. I was just having fun getting some of the hummingbirds at Alan's apartment and thought they turned out good.

Watson Mill Bridge

Since I have been back in Athens I have been thinking about the many things that I have yet to do or see in the past 4 years. The things that I have been meaning to do and have been putting off for no reason in particular. With some downtime since I have been back in town I have decided that this is entirely unacceptable and there is no reason to put off having fun and exploring the city I love. So, I have come up with a list of places to go and things to do during my last months in Athens (as a student anyways). One thing on the list was to visit Watson Mill Bridge, so Alan and I went today to check it out. Here is a picture of what the park used to look like before the drought. Kind of pretty right?

This is the picture I took of the bridge today. Much less water, but it made for good exploring.

Back in Athens

Well, I have been in Athens since the 24th of July and I have yet to post any updates. (I guess because I have done very little since I have been back in town, other than some knitting, running much needed errands, getting everything put away and organized and just taking it easy).

However, It is very nice to be back in Athens, and back to the old grind...well sort of. School hasn't started yet, but I am looking forward to when it does. At the same time, I am pretty sad, because it is my last semester and I am not quite sure I want it to end. I have to enter the real world sooner or later, I guess, I would just rather it be later..and live the amazing life of a college student a little longer.

Speaking of my final semester, I have come to the conclusion that it is going to be pretty amazing!!! I will be interning with the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau, doing what I love...taking pictures!! I am pretty pumped to get out and capture Athens in the fall and the wonderful things that come along with that ie. UGA football, beautiful weather, the change of the seasons, interesting people, etc.

I will probably do nothing but take pictures the entire semester between my internship and my advanced photojournalism class. I am also considering shooting for The Red & Black to earn a little extra money. I'll have to see what happens!

I haven't been taking many pictures since I have been back..my camera is having focusing issues and it sometimes annoys me to even try to shoot anything. I will have my camera for school soon enough and I won't have to worry about that anymore. So, until then, I guess I should rename my blog to "my week or so in pictures." Here are a few that I have taken since I have been back in town.

Alan got a hummingbird feeder for his apartment...we have been busy bird watching ever since.
