Welcome to the World Emma Grace

This past weekend was jammed packed with fun stuff...the GymDogs winning their 4th consecutive national championship and the Twilight Bike Race (photos to come soon!). However, the best part of the weekend (for me anyways) was going to visit Alan's new niece, Emma Grace. Congratulations Jennifer and Jeremy! She is absolutely beautiful. Here are a few pictures I got while she was sleeping.

I was browsing the BBC News website today and was checking out the "Day in Pictures" section, and this (click to the 3rd) picture made me crack up! I think the next dog I get needs to be this kind, because how could you have a bad day when you have a dog that looks like that?

It's Almost Summer

Well, it has been a while since I have posted. Life has been more than hectic lately with the end of the school year coming quickly. I am looking forward to the rest of the week, I only wish I didn't have to fit in studying with all the fun events going on. Athens is hosting the NCAA National Gymnastics Championships, which starts tomorrow! I am excited to cheer on our GymDogs to their 4th Consecutive National Championship! GO DAWGS! This weekend is also the Criterium bike race in downtown Athens, also known as Twilight. The races are at night which makes for a great atmosphere to watch the race and hang out downtown. The end of my semester is definitely going to be far from boring....hopefully finals will go well and summer will come quickly!

This past weekend was the Ballroom Dance Club formal. Alan doesn't like to take pictures, or should I say, he likes to do weird things in pictures.

Spring has Sprung (hopefully)

Well, it seems as though the weather has been less than predictable this year. One day it's beautiful, the next far from it. I captured this photo yesterday and realized that (hopefully) spring is here to stay, even if Mother Nature proves me wrong this picture made me happy for a few days! While the title of my blog is "the little joys in life," (and I don't always post on the "little joys"...well I guess anything can be a joy depending on how you look at it) I thought I would post this picture, because I think flowers can be one of those "little joys." Colorful, cheerful, beautiful nature ...well enough talking about the beautiful weather, since it's currently gorgeous outside I am going out to enjoy it, for it may be gone soon!

What could be better...

than Georgia Football and Braves baseball in one weekend?...the answer is, very little. The spring football game, aka "G-Day" was on Saturday. Even though the weather was far from beautiful or springlike, the game was still fun! It pretty much rained the entire day, but it was still great to see the boys back out on the field, and we have some really talented new guys that I'm looking forward to watching in the fall. GO DAWGS!! Then, Alan and I went to the Braves game for his birthday yesterday. It was John Smoltz's season debut and we beat the New York Mets 3-1! I love this time of year...baseball, beautiful weather, and the end of the school year, hopefully the beautiful weather will come along soon...I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
